vandalism - diy repait kits?

vandalism. Anyone had good results from repairing someone who took a key to the 3 panels on one side of your car!?!? Are those kits worth it? Or should I just pony up the 500 deductable and get the shop to do it? Thoughts?

The kits work good for rock chips. Even the

kits say they do not work work for key

scratches. Sorry for the bad news.

Get it fixed properly I say. That should be covered by your insurance and not affect your rates.

yeah, insurance is going to pay a portion...but i get to write the check for the first 500 bucks:( All in all it was 1200 dollar repair. I absolutely hate paying money for repairs that are cosmetic. But what can you do. Little bstrds are building a lot of negative karma pulling this crap. I understand flaming poop bags and toliet paper stunts, but taking a key down the side of a mans ride...wow.
