I have been reading the various threads on wheel spacers. I had always thought you only used spacers when you changed wheels.

When looking at my car my immediate thought is that it would look better with spacers on the rear. I have the stock Carrera 5 spoke 19's. The rear wheels don't really fill the wheel well as much as I would like.

If I were going install spacers which ones would I order? Is 5mm the norm? Is it best to order the Porsche OEM or is there a aftermarket alternative? Don't want to do anything to void my warranty.

Any insight and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Phillip:

Check out "allsprings.com". They carry H & R spacers which are made from a lightweight aluminum/magnesium alloy AND are TUV approved. Great for less unsprung weight and safety.

I bought the porsche spacers. They

came with longer lug nuts. Bigger

then Porsche might case problems on the half shafts.

Just make sure of the longer lug nuts.

I do not think the spacers made the car faster.

I do not think the car handles any better with the spacers.

I do not notice any difference with the wheels fitting better.

I think that lowering the car would look better but I did

not do this because the car is to redady to low.

But what size do get? It looks like the H&R site recommends 7mm. Is that right? I'm strictly doing this for aesthetics. Not for speed or handling.

Anyone know the correct size for the 997?

Thanks
