I have a 2006 997 C4S and I wanted to upgrade to the new LED Tailights, at the same time I was thinking of possibly upgrading the bumper to a 997.2 Turbo Bumper. Does anyone know if a Turbo Bumper will fit a 997.1 C4S with LED Tails? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

The mount points on the body should be the same (although I can't speak to the fitment around the tail light recesses). But the exhaust setup might require fabrication. Seems like a lot of work to make the rear end look like something it's not--are there any kit bumpers out there from a reputable producer like RUF that suit your taste?

Unless the new bumper makes it go faster, I wouldn't bother. Cheers.

Well here's what's pushing me for a change, my bumper for some reason has melted around the passenger's side exhaust tip... I have never seen such thing happen, even my local Porsche dealer has only seen this once, all heat shields are present anyways quite a weird issue, so I figured maybe an upgrade in looks wouldn't be that bad.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

A new rear bumper will set you back around$3,000. There

are a lot of fiberglass bumpers that might go for $1,000

to $1,500. Do you have a feel for what direction you

want to go?

It's not as bad as I taught the new 997.2 Led Tails with OEM C4S Bumper is approx $1600 unpainted of course so it might be worth the upgrade...

does it fit though? are there any technical issues (e.g. wiring)?

Hi, the gen2 turbo bumber is not yet available as ive been waiting to order it myself. im just about to upgrade my front and rear lights, i already have a turbo bumper fitted to the rear of my c4s cab and it looks so much more manly than the original, i also had to have my rear exhaust tips altered as they sit higher up on a turbo, a local bodyshop is going to rea-shape around the new led lights for me to get that factory finish, the gen2 turbo bumper is exactly the same as the gen1 apart from the light apetures, i have a complete gen2 front bumper, just waiting to book in to the OPC to get the new control units coded (front and rear), ps, just for the record the gen2 upgrade looks awsome, if you keep your original parts then when you sell the car you can put back to standard, anyone who says its a waste of time doing the conversion must in my opinion be nuts, or jealous, gen2 looks a million $$$$$$$, always hated the standard front on mine anyway. Go for it, you know it makes sense

Hello Tim,

I agree with you 100% about looks, of course not everyone will, but yes keeping the original parts is a good thing so that way it can be resold all orginal. Can I ask you ? so you have a 997 C4S Cab Gen1 ? You say you already have a Turbo Bumper fitted? My understanding is you fitted a Gen 1 Turbo bumper already, it fits but you had to modify the exhaust to accomodate this bumper. Can you confirm that Gen 1 Turbo bumper fits the C4S?
