White Smoke Coming for Exhaust Pipe

When I start up my 98 Boxster, I get a white smoke coming from my exhaust. The smoke goes away after I drive it but it's every time I start the car in the morning regardless of weather condition. Is this is a serious problem? My boxster is a manual and has 63K miles. Appreciate any feedback.

If it's just a poof of white smoke when you start it up for a short duration (on mine it's just a poof usually, or maybe a couple of seconds) first thing in the morning, that is completely normal, and is based on the engine design, and the fact that our cylinders are horizontal. There are plenty of posts on that very topic. :)

Now if you're spraying for mosquitos every morning for 2 or 3 minutes straight, or if it does it on every start up even when warm, thats different.

Possible cause is the AOS (air oil separator); I'd advise having a look inside the air inlet pipes on the top of the engine for oil (a little oil makes a lot of smoke). Fairly cheap and easy fix if you're a DIY'er - I think there's a guide on here somewhere.
