Need your informed opinions.

I got a 04 C4S, and the radio seems to be stuck at the startup process. Just a whirring sound and Porsche flashing on and off in the radio display. The radio seems to magically work when the car is left outside in warm weather. Is there a connection with warm weather and the MOST system in the car? The car only has 10,000 miles and the problem has been ongoing for the last 6 months. I intended to show the problem to the service tech my last visit, but of course the radio worked just fine while I was there.

Thanks.

I have the same issue with mine but vary rarely. Sometimes the radio while driving will flash Porsche and then it resets the radio. It clears all the settings for bass, treble etc. All the presets stay intact though. i am curious as well. I have a 2003 C2

Someone in this area just reported that their non-starting radio was cured by venting cool air to it. No other details. Kinda opposite the working in warm weather, tho.

If you find you need to replace it, i have a CDR 23 single CD head unit from my 04 986S. PM me if needed.

Unfortunately intermittent electronic problems are very difficult to diagnose....I would check out all connections...HU>amp>ground wires

I have a 2004 C2 and have exactly the same issue. Very occasionally (~4 times) I get silence except a hi pitched whistle and "porsche" displayed on the radio. I cycle the ignition a couple of times and it clears. It 'might' be temperature related as the AMP gets really hot in the summer. This happened too few times to worry. about it

I imagine all CDR-23 systems have this issue - either thermal or software.
