Hi, we have a 997 turbo with a slight hesitance under normal light throttle conditions upto around 3000 rpm. its covers 30.000miles. It had new turbo's at the dealer under good will but it still has this hesitance, we have fitted new spark plugs but all is the same.

Durametric says there is no fault but unfortunately actual values won't work on this car. I have just down loaded version 6 and i am hoping actual values will work and that we can narrow it down to a particular cylinder.

Until then can anyone shed any light on a potential fix for this car. I was wondering if a cam actuator could be not working properly but unlike PIWIS, Durametric does not have a test facility for this.

Are you sure you are not just feeling the VarioCam Plus switch over. That causes a slight hesitation.

If you had a cam actuator problem I think you would also have fault codes.

No its much more severe than that, a serious hesitation/flutter, not MIL on and no fault codes. Both banks are running equally inc Mass Air Flow readings. A slight minus figure on both RKAT but nowhere near 6.5.

I have wondered about a cam solenoid but not sure.

Can you monitor it with your tester and see if it is on both banks? or just one?

I doubt the MAF would change but the RKAT on one bank might indicate a cam solenoid irregularity.

RKAT is equal on both banks at minus 1.5 suggesting its slightly running rich but nothing significant there, needs to be 6.5 for MIL.

I cant see anything running wrong

very odd, been to main dealer, they have no idea either
