My new boxster is having top problems. On the passenger side today when I put the top up, I saw that the top on the passengers side had come loose and pulled over the window trim. What had happened was the thread holding the top together came loose. Actually it broke and causing the top to flap over a little bit on top of the passenger side. Im irritated. Has anyone had this problem? can anyone give me an estimate of how long you think this top is going to be in the shop? I just got it back last thurs and now it has to go back. Im soo frustrated. Ok so the problem is the stitching had come loose on the passenger side.

I agree with your frustration,

If you were to combine all the problems you are having or have had, I would think you should think about maybe getting another one. It seems the build QA has had somebody sleeping on the job.

You have had way to many weird problems for me to believe that in the long run it won't get worst.

 Just my 2 cents.

to recap: The dealer 'fixed' your loose top on a new vehicle and it is now broken again. I would ask the service manager to order up replacement parts and fix it while you wait (or realistically within the 6 hour work day you arrange.) If this is a problem for the dealer, I would ask for the number of the PCA rep.

Basically-I would give the dealer a second chance to fix it right - but I wouldn't leave the car overnight and if they blow it, I would choose another dealer for all future service. In So Cal you have choices.

On the other hand, you could leave the car at the dealer and let them take a week - depending on how many days it take to get another new car under the California lemon laws.
