Can I get some input. Whose product did you readers use?

I would like to paint red on a 2003 Box S and then put back on the "PORSCHE" decal.

Thanks

Do a search and you will find a diy around. I did mine black a couple of years ago with Duplicolor that i bought at Autozone.

And the decals i got off ebay. Both have held up well. The paint is a bit soft, so you have to be careful that you don't scratch it

when putting on the wheels.

The best way to do it would be to powder coat the calipers. www.powderbuythepound.com would be your best bet for the right

color. And they have a clear coat that can hadle the heat. There is a guy in panorama that does calipers for $150ea. (Powder Coat)

Or go to china freight and buy your own gun for $70.

My 2 cents is forget any a special kit or paint. I used duplicolor engine enamel (probably even overkill, the rotors dont get that hot) and ebay decals also. Mine are fine condition after 5 years(?) which tells me powder coating is way overkill. Fools my freinds and the guys at the car wash(lol)

I would behoove anyone to tell the difference in color unless my calipers were right next to the real things. Besides, I believe the real red calipers are a different performance oriented animal. They look different, bigger pistons. Anyone who could tell the diff in the shades of red, would already know you don't have the real deal because of the size & shape.

The single most important thing for a good Finnish and longevity is prep. Those pups a dirty and greasy. Clean thoroughly however would want. When think your done. You really want it "chemically clean" but good with a "prep solvent. I use 3m adhesive remover, same stuff, petty easy to find, You want to wipe it on and before it evaporates wipe it back of.

Prety hard to sand, do you best and off you go.

I looked for the decals on ebay and could not find them. Can someone point me to the right spot.

(Caliper decals "PORSCHE")

I got mine here: www.xenonmods.com

I refreshed the finish on my calipers but didn't need the decals. I cleaned the calipers and lightly sanded with 800-grit sandpaper, feathering the edges where the clearcoat had peeled off, and even more lightly over the PORSCHE lettering. I sprayed the calipers with a clear engine enamel (duplicolor, I think). They look nearly as good as new.

I used red engine paint, clear, and decals from eBay, most important thing is to use a good degreaser and then brake cleaner, you spray 3 light coats of paint, put the decals, and 3 light coats of clear and you are done.

Bought duplicolor 'red' caliper paint for my 2000 Boxster S. I went with the brush on solution and found it easy to use. didn't clear coat after the paint. Also purchased decals off of ebay. Easy job and looks great.

Here is the little hack that i did today. 1 down 3 to go.

Bead blasted the caliper, taped off the important parts, shot with 2 coats of black gloss powder, put on sticker, the applied one layer of clear gloss.

I like the boxster instead of Porsche on it. Kinda one of a kind.
