Ipod again..

Hey guys/girls. I found it's a snap to wire in the ipod to the back of the cdr220 head unit using the Becker adapter. All of the old threads here suggests you can't do this with the digital inputs on the '04 Bose system - has anyone found a way to do it?

If not, has anyone put in an Alpine head unit with Ainet, so that this might work (if so, pics of the Alpine installed would be great!) Here is the press release. Is it possible to simply change the head unit with the MOST bus?

Hi All,

1999 C2 Coupe US

I was planning an upgrade of my head unit from the DR-210 to the Alpine CDA-9847 and adding the Alpine KCA-420i iPod cable to connect my Nano. Thought I'd just call Crutchfield and they would ship it all with a connection kit and I'd be done.

We'll they have no information on the 996 so I turn to the forum to help me sort this out. Does anyone know what the correct head unit size is for our cars is?

I've also discovered through the Apline site that the some of the head units will only require the Alpine KCE-422i iPod cable. The two shown on their site are CDA-9857 (single din) or IVA-W200 (double din). Does anyone know if these will fit. Most likely the 9857, but the w200 would look great if I removed the CD holders.
