Buckle for airbag deactivation bar?

Can anyone tell me which buckle fits the bar (as title)?

Looking to fit one but don't have or want a Porsche child seat with the correct buckle, believe it's a 944 item? Part no. would be excellent.

Most folks just pick up a Boxster buckle at a wrecking/salvage yard.

"After the deactivation device (crossbar with belt lock) has been installed and enabled, the passenger side airbags (including airbag passenger door) are deactivated by inserting the belt tongue from the

child seat into the belt lock (receptacle) on the cross-bar"

The Porsche brand child seats (in the UK) come with a hanging buckle atached to them via a strap, it is this buckle that fits into the deactivation bar, not the standard seat belt buckle.

I'm curious as to which type it is, as I said ealier, from reading other material i'm led to believe it's a 924 item ,just looking for some confirmation if possible.

I checked with some old parts I have in the basement and it isn't a 924 buckle. The receptacle on the bar I have is marked 'center' so I would guess that the buckle from the rear center seat of a VW product would be a good place to start.

Here are a couple of photos of the buckle, that may either help you track one down or perhaps modify one from a dismantler.

I have heard that people have modified a 944 buckle to work and there is a least one template floating around on the net that can be used to fabricate a buckle out of flat stock.

Try googling "Boxster air bag deactivation buckle template/pattern" and see what you can find.

I read on here to use a thin allen key (think about 4mm or so) to push the latch in on the buckle receiver until it clicks. This is what I have been doing since installing the 'bar'

Works great.

In fact, I usually just have the passenger airbag off, as I never have an adult in the front seat. as 99.9% of the time I have a passenger in the car it's one of my 2 kids. If I get in a front fender bender (heaven forbid). I at least save the pass. airbag.
