993 clutch never replaced

Am looking at a 993 with over 110,000 miles on what I am told is the original clutch, is this possible? I have test drove the car and there is no slippage or noises from the clutch. I am just trying to figure out how much longer I have before a new one will have to come into play? Car is as clean as they come and has been very well serviced its whole life.

Would love some feedback.

How long is a piece of string?? You can never answer these question as it depends on too many variables. Just budget that it needs a clutch and replace when it finally does fail.

the 993 still had a good clutch and pressure plate set up

if you mis shifted a down shift 5 >2 it would not fly apart like 996/986 style

it would tear up the motor instead

I've seen cars with 150K on the clutch and still plenty of life in it. I have also seen cars with 15K on them and the clutch completely used up.

If the clutch passes the slip test, then don't worry about it.

This is an engine out job. So, budget about $3,000.

Good to hear! My clutch style is to slip it minimally,even if it slightly bogs the engine.Ferrari mechanics say "engage it and be done with it..." Slipping,while smoother will shorten clutch life substantially.

Some 993 have already replaced clutch at 100000 miles, some other not at 150 000 miles...

It depend on the use of the car, of the road (highway or a lot of traffic or downtown traffic....) and of course depend of the driver behavior.

For me, only one answer, plan a budget to replace it ;)
