My 2006 Cab will be out of warranty in May next year.

I've never had an extended warranty before, so not sure how the process works.

When should I start looking into this? What should I look for? How much should I expect to pay? Recommendations for companies offering this service.

Do you know where (what dealer) the car was originally purchased? If so go to that dealer and you can purchase one from them. Maybe even your local dealer could sell you an extended warranty. Just don't let your current warranty expire.

There are a lot of scam companies out there so be careful.

I'm picking up an 06 "S" Carrera tomorrow. It's factory warranty expires in May as well.

I will buy an extended warranty from my dealer before it expires (last week of April) I will pay $2,800 for a 50k/4 year warranty at that time.

I think your price range should be around $2800 to $3500 for 4 years/50k miles(or more) Those are the numbers I found common when I shopped around for a new car. Worth every penny if your engine goes ka-blooey

Good luck!

$2,800 for a 50k/4 year warranty is a bargain imho.

Less than $2/day for the peace of mind IF something goes wrong...

I got a quote today from Barrier Porsche in Bellevue, WA for an extended warranty on my '03 996 C2 Tip (blk/blk) w/ 53K miles (my current one expires 9/15) and it goes like this:

Warranty Coverage Range and $USD

1/12000 = $3674

2/24000 = $4330

3/36000 = $6138

4/48000 = $7432

5/60000 = $8792

Are these prices out of line? Any suggestions?

many thanks!

Sandy
