Hello,

I am considering buying the rain sensing wiper kit for my 1999 996 coupe US version. I was able to find one post here where people commented on the effectiveness of the wipers. Some liked it some did not.

Would anyone who has them comment on how good they are? I have only driven one two cars ( both BMW's) that had them and they were fabulous. If the Porsche system is anywhere close to being as good as the BMW one I'd like to have it. Just wondering if they are worth it...

Thanks,

Doug Davis

I've also only driven the BMW version and like it. I don't really drive the Box in rain enough to justify conversion, even if the Porsche version is worthwhile.

The Porsche variable wiper speed requires constant fiddling, and again maybe practice would make perfect.

I'd certainly consider a conversion if my Box were a daily driver in rain country. The DIY does not look too difficult and frees up a spot on the center stack for another 12V plug.

Works Well. I like them. Adjusts wiper speed to degree of rain.

the rain sensing wipers on my '02 c4s are outstanding. without a doubt worthwhile. they are fully capable of being fast enough to clear away the worst downpour, and effective at keeping a light drizzle clear. very nice feature.

good luck!
