If you have a couple of bucks left over, order clear side markers from Eric at BumperPlugs. Imho they really enhance the appearance of black cars.

Hi there. I just bought a 2006 Carrera S with Tiptronic for $61K. It only had 2100 miles on it and is a CPO from Rusnak in Westlake. Sales people at Rusnak are terrible to deal with. I saw a car at Beverly Hills Porsche. Lady named Hele and Manager named John. Both much nicer folks to deal with. Good luck.

Congrats on your new S. The best 4 second ride to 60 there is. The steadiest 150mph line changing you'll ever experience. And the goosebumps will still be there five years from now when you grab that wheel... Enjoy.

I have to agree the car makes me smile everytime I drive it. It is very quick and effortlessly fast. I took it on some twisties (that I know very well) the other day. I was amazed how neutral the car was in the corners. Stock suspension and tires in "Sport Mode" is quite something. Very very happy :D :D :D

Will post pictures this weekend :D

We agonized with you.

We gave you good advice.

We gave you bad advice.

We stood stoic in the

maternity ward for the

birth of your new black baby.

Oooops..not politically correct.

All we asked for was pictures.

What did we get? Nothing!

Sport Steering Wheel. $250 option

If I'm not mistaken the wheel w/ the triangular air bag is the wheel normally on the non 'S' 997 cars. That wheel would usually come with the radio/phone/pcm controls on it when ordered on an "S' car.

I believe the 'standard' 997S comes w/ the 'Sport Wheel' (round air bag, fatter & w/ ergonomic grips).

I'm puzzled why someone would 'special order' the non 'S' wheel. I've never seen that wheel on an 'S' car unless it had the controls.

I guess they didn't like the way the 'Sport Wheel' looked.

I agree. It's the only "S" I have seen with this wheel. I think a woman ordered this car and maybe she thought the "Sport" wheel was too masculine :o

I don't mind it though and I'm certanly not going to pop for the other wheel (It's stupid expensive.) I got a great deal on the car and I love it. Maybe if one falls on my lap I will replace it.

If it was a woman's car funny she would order the Sport Chrono and the PSE though....

Promises, promises. (Photos)

Also, to pick knits, I believe the wheels are Carrera (standard). I'm probably wrong. Are they 19"?

Yews they are 19's. I recently adorned them with the color Porsche crests. :D
