The dealer is telling me that removing the wheels with the new centre hub lock is a dealer-only operation. They would, wouldn't they? As far as I can see, the car comes with the "socket" to fit over the centre hub nut but you need a huge torque-wrench to move it or a torque multiplier which does not come with the car. Any one know where to source such a beast?

I see two parts in the system:

997.361.069.02 Tool for wheel bolt (M430)

997.361.161.00 Extension for tool wheel bolt (M430/M447)

No images or prices yet - but there should be a parts list update in the next week or so.

Saw a guy at the track last weekend removing the nuts with a long ratchet. So no way only the dealer can do it. Maybe they'll tell you that for liability issues. They don't want people under-torquing those wheels.

same as on CGT.............instead of expensive "torque multiplier", you may simply use a 3/4 torque wrench...I have (weird) several available, if needed.

I've torqued those centerlock wheels on a few PDI's. All you need is that socket and an appropriate torque wrench that can handle 500nm, I believe. You'll need someone to hold the brakes while you do it also. Or if you have one.... We rigged up a way to use the CGT torque multiplier on these and it works like a charm, can be done with one person.
