i have a 2004 996 c4s cab tip USA model

the front windshield washer pump does not work when i pull on the wiper stalk... any ideas as to the problem?

some things i have tried and observations when i attempt to wash the front windshield...

--the front wiper works (so the windshield motor works)

--i DO NOT hear the windshield washer pump working when i attempt to wash the front windshield

--the headlight washer DOES work and i do hear a pump and washer fluid is pumped to the headlights

--i checked the windshield wiper fuse and the fuse is okay.

a couple of questions...

--im assuming there is only ONE pump for both the windshield and headlight washer fluid

--from other posts... it could be a relay problem? if so, where is this relay located and what is the part number for the relay?

--or maybe the stalk could be the problem?

thanks in advance for any insight!

There are two pumps - one for each.

There are not too hard to check - most common problem is a hose coming off.

You can access the pumps and connections by removing the left front wheel and the wheel well liner.

All the pumps, tanks, etc. are in the upper fender.

I checked the front windshield pump and the hose is attached. When i attempt to wash the front windshield, i do not hear the pump, but the windshield wiper runs. Any other thoughts? What about the relay for the front windshield wiper pump? where is that located? thanks!

The only relay is the intermittent wiper control relay - position 16.

The only two fuses are C6 and C9.

If all those are okay it is likely the pump.
