I have a 2002 Boxster tip (55k miles) and I was driving today in SoCal. It was like 100 outside, going on the freeway with the radio and AC on pretty high (just trying to give all the details here). Got off the freeway, stopped completely at the light and then, at some point (wasn't paying close attention) the engine died. All the lights on the dash were on, just like you were first starting the car up.

Started it back up, seemed fine. Drove more throughout the day, pushing it hard and fast breaking, no problems. Any ideas on this one? I'm pretty concerned, obviously, especially since I can't seem to repeat it.

Help!

Do you still have the original ignition switch? If yes and you have any other strange experiences, maybe it's time to replace with the new style

Actually I'm pretty sure my ignition switch was replaced, since I had the whole "nearly impossible to turn the car on and the electricals don't work when the car is turned on" symptom a couple years back.

Would Techron and a throttle-body clean really stop the engine from dying? I thought that just manifested as a rough idle?
