windshield washer system

On a 2000 911 C2, how does one access the windshield/headlight washer system components, i.e. reservoir, pumps, etc. I've removed the inner panel on the driver's side front fender and now see only a thick black plastic member running from the bottom rear to about the top middle. Does this have to be removed? The system has a leak that I am trying to identify and correct. Thanks. :renntech:

All of the windshield washer and headlight washer components are behind the left front wheel well liner.

I'm pretty sure, the "thick black plastic" you seen under the left wheel well liner is the washer tank.

You are correct! I found an exploded diagram of this system and that part is the reservoir, thanks for your help.
