Harness Truss Install

I just gor the BK harness truss for my belts and I need some help. How do the adjustable upper belts mounts come apart in my 01 996? I need to get at the bolt that holds the belt D-Ring to mount the bracket for the truss, but it's got the adjustable slider over the bolt and it's not clear how that part comes off. Loren do you have an exploded diagram that shows how to take the slider off so I can get to the D-Ring bolt?

Where did you buy your Harness Truss? I just bought the BK R1030 harness bar from OG Racing, a Brey Krause distributor, for my '99 coupe. I inquired about the Harness Truss at the time and they told me that it would not work in my car specifically because of the adjustable slider in the B-pillar. I pointed out to them that the Brey Krause web site said that the Harness Truss "fits all 911 coupes '69 to present", but they told me that was incorrect.....that the 993 was the last model the Truss worked in. In light of your installation concerns I wonder if you got some bad info......or maybe I did. :huh:

Your info was correct. That truss bar won't work in a 996. The model you have that bolts to the rear shock towers and the lower seat belt mounting bolt is the only one that works.

Hmmm, I bought it from ebay, based on the BK web site info, I guess i need to do more research...
