I was perusing the latest (I think) 986 tire TSB yesterday trying to develop a strategy for replacement of my out of production Dunlop Sport 9090s whose fronts are going to be 6 years old and ~30k miles in the spring.

There are only three tires listed for 18" wheels: Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4, Bridgestone Potenza S02A N3, and Continental ContiSportContact2 N2.

Michelin PS2s are not listed except for 17s.

Tire Rack still lists the PS2 N3 and the Pilot Sport Rib N1, as well as the Pirelli P-Zero System N3.

Am I missing something like another tire list? Or is the TR site just outdated?

There are many other tires out there that will work on your Boxster...I, for one, do not have a hang-up on the Porsche approved rating. Doesn't mean the other tires aren't acceptable, they just didn't pay the juice to have the the tires tested and put on the list. Just don't buy some cheap unknown brand; if you stick with a quality manufacturer, you will not have an issue.

Thanks. Mostly I was just wondering why the latest TSB list was so short. Maybe I just hadn't paid any attention before.
