Checking transmission fluid...98 Boxster

Has anyone done this before? It is an automatic transmission. Is it the allen key plug that you check it through?

Thanks for the help. I was going to pull the plug in the pan that looked like a drain plug, but I was a bit leary. Now where is the fill plug?

So the check plug is the one in the rear of the pan right? I just have to find the fill one. Is the fill an allen key as well?

You need to read the messages again. What you say looks like a drain plug is the fill plug. That is why there is a round hole in the stress plate that is shaped like a triangle. So you can remove the fill plug through the plate.

I couldnt find the drain plug cause it was covered by a boat load of mud and the skid plate. After I changed it you could have mistaked the transmission fluid for 30 wieght. It was so black. Is there any way to flush these transmissions, not just drain them?
