I just traded my '01 Cab for an '06 S Cab...very nice! It is pretty loaded (leather, Nav, Bose, sports seats, sport/chrono, etc.), but I am considering either completely changing out the head unit (for something like a Pioneer Avic Z2 which would have everything I want, including Bluetooth, ipod, etc) or just adding ipod and bluetooth to the existing unit. Any suggestions on gear, where to do (or can I do it myself?)?

Much appreciated!

This has been covered a number of times here. Search for Dension, nav-tv, and MOST for more info.

Dension Gateway 500 w/ BT adapter will give you what you want. There are plenty of threads on this forum as well as others. Just do a search on Dension you you'll be flooded w/ information. I've had my Dension for over (2) years and it does a great job. It's definitely a DIY job if you're a handy guy.

I have the Navtec Tooki Bluetooth and Dension Gateway ipod adapter in my 2005 coupe and have been happy with both of them. If I remember, they were around $1000 for the both of them when purchased a year and a half ago. I installed them myself with the ipod adapter being located int he trunk and the bluetooth behind the glovebox. The installation was no problem.

David, have a look here and here. They're both excellent sources for installing the Dension interface. :welcome:

David,

give the mObridge a look as well. Got mine two weeks ago at $729 with BT and iPod/iPhone and aux in. Install was 45 minutes to an hour. Put it in the passenger footwell behind the glove compart which is accessible by simply removing the foam pannel. Mobridge web site has great docs on how to pull the PCM out so you can make the electrical connections.

My biggest worry was how to mount the mic. Ended up not being a problem at all. Comes with a little sticky pad o. The mount so I was able to stick it on the interior light body just above the mirror. Used an old credit. Add to gently push the cable behind the trim around the windshield. PM me if you like pictures.
