Got my new 2009 boxster few weeks ago! The car is just lovely. Can't find words to describe the joy of owning/driving this babe.

One quick technical question.

My overhead interior lights somehow not working after car wash. The footwell light, however, is working just fine. I have opened up the fuse box that I suspected a short circuit may occur but I can't find the specific fuse location associated with it. Or anyone has any thoughts?

I can take the car back to the dealer and let them to fix it but I would like to know the cause of it.

Thanks Boxster(s)!!

I think you are referring to the map light. You sure the light isn't just turned off? Can you manually switch it on? My thinking is when they wiped down the inside they accidentally turned it off. Otherwise maybe it is the bulb then.

Congrats on your purchase!

Thanks for your reply! The map light and also the "sun blocker" lights are not functioning. I am sure that the switch isn't turned off and it's stilll not working when I manually switch it on.... How strange...

Congrats on the new car!

Are you taking that baby to a car wash! I hope not. That will cause you to be barred from Renntech for life.

Please correct me ;p ... Am I not supposed to hand wash the car with Protech?.. Did I do anything wrong to the car?

FYI, I took the car to the the service center. First of all, what they did was looking at the fuse box (Which I have already inspected), and found nothing wrong with the fuses. Then the technician took the car into the workshop, diagnostic with his computer (I guess) while me and my wife was waiting inside enjoying a hot coffee and cookie offered by Porsche. After a while, the guy came out and said to me that he needed at least one day to pinpoint the problem as he needed to take out pieces to locate the bad circuit which didn't show any hint from the Porsche diagnostic tool.

Will take the car back to the workshop few days later... Hope it wouldn't take them to fix the problem for too much time.... Really enjoy driving this convertiable around the city.

I realized another problem when my friend shooting a movie for my car. From the video, i see my car's tail brake lights go flickering when applied brakes... The thing is, I couldn't repeat and make this problem to occur again... Any 987-2 owners aware of that?

Because of the LED brake lights the frequency at which they cycle compared to the frame rate captured on the video it will make it appear as if the lights are flickering. To the naked eye, they are not.
