Hi,

can someone please point me in the direction of a guide that will show me how to replace a dash glob (one behind the clock) or failing that, give me some breif steps to follow?

I have searched and found a similar thread but the answer was to look at other guides (that I cant find....)

Thanks in advance,

Sam

Sam,

If a globe is a bulb and your car is a 986 with a digital clock in the insreumenr cluster, I don't know if a bulb will help. Nonetheless you need to remove the guage pod. Popping out the emergency flasher button will expose a screw on the rt. On the left pop out the little microphone cover exposing another screw. Remove both screws and the pod should come loose revealing all bulbs.

yes sorry - globe is aussie for bulb :)

Its a 986 RHD with the digital clock in the instrument cluster. I can see its still working, just not illuminated like the other two digital displays. Thanks for the location of those two screws, that was exactly what I was hoping to learn!

No prob. Sam,

I doubt you'll find it back lit. I always thought they were self illuminated.

Had the same problem and tried "the thump" method

Tools required: Fist

Procedure: Bang fist on top of dash several times until the back light becomes illuminated

Picture attached of back light prior

Thanks guys, I should be fine from here now :)
