Hello All, I have read some information concerning air bag fault code light. My light is on, and I'm in the process of selling the car.

My car is always stored in a heated garage so I have a hard time believing the gold connections on the back of the air bag are corroded. Is there and easy replacement for the sender unit ? Is there a way to cancel this light without involving the dealer. I have worked on many acar.

I have learned there always a way around the dealer in most cases. By the way I will be buying a C :clapping: 2 soon. Reason for selling the little Boxster..

Any help would very appreciated.

It can only be turned off by someone with the Porsche tester. The issues are the buckles and ground wires or the control unit. In your year they used tin plated contacts, and there is a retrofit kit that uses gold plated contacts.

You might try Tim Benson at Fastlane Porsche in Santa Cruz. He use to work for Stevens Creek Porsche and then My-Porsche before starting his own shop. He has a PST2 and can read the fault codes.
