While driving today, both windows dropped down about 3 inches and won't go back up. They work fine up and down but stop 3 inches before being completely closed. I suspect this has something to do with the top and a micro switch somewhere. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know where to look. Help please.

This is discussed before here, please do a search, it have to do with the switch, build in the top lock unit, where the top handle hook sits with the top in closed (up) possition. Window control think that the hook is unlocked to open the top and will drop the windows spontaneously.

Sactorandy:

I agree with the diagnosis that one of the two microswitches that are located in the latch receptacle is faulty. Possibly a hairline separation, as described by member Dan Hinkebein, at this link: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...c=10458&hl=

Also, you did not mention whether your "top open" idiot light was lit or not. If it is lit for some reason, then the windows will not travel all the way up and stay there once you release the switch.

Regards, Maurice.
