Anyone know how to adjust the wiper arms so that they sit on the black plastic cowl cover? Mine sit just above that on the window. I assume that is not correct as when the arm wipes the window it goes across the weatherstrip on the left drivers side window. I tried removing the arm and rotating the wiper arm by one "keyway" but that made it too far down. I removed the cowl for replacement so I see where the wiper motor and mechanism is but if I have to make an adjustment in there I won't know if it is right until I fully assemble it.

I am the original owner of a 2003 996 and I have never made any adjustments or changes to my wiper blades. Here is a photo of the blade sitting in its correct position.

I am showing you this to help you figure out if perhaps your blade has been changed out or has been somehow damaged (bent).

Good luck...

Well, thats about where mine sit so I guess all is fine. I thought they might tuck in a little lower since they have been hit by flying debris.

The issue remains: why does your wiper hit the vertical edge? My wipers don't - and I am also very impressed with how well they wipe the glass. Perhaps: did someone buy you larger or aftermarket wipers? Just a thought....

I had the same issue.

The reason your wipers hit the window rubber is that they are the wrong type. If you buy after market wipers the book in your local Pep Boys will say that the wipers should fit, but in reality one of the wipers needs to be curved. That way it doesn't hit the window rubber. Get original Porsche blades and this will fix your issue.

Maybe I jumped the gun. From inside the car the drivers wiper looks like it hits the trim (it goes out of sight in the upper corner). Maybe it doesn't hit the trim. I do have OEM Porsche wipers (I assume) since I bought them from Suncoast Porsche.

They are OEM if one of them is curved in the vertical plane (normally a wiper is only curved against the curvature of the window).
