aftermarket stereo

Hi,

I just got a 2002 boxster with an upgraded Bose stereo. The problem is that the stereo is all messed up. I wanted to replace it with an aftermarket Alpine head unit, while still maintaining the existing amp, speakers and wiring if possible. can this be done or am i in for quite a job?

You should get a wiring harness specific for a boxtster radio, and a wiring schematic. it isn't too complicated of a job... if your existing is a Porsche factory unit, you'll need a special tool to remove the head unit (it's actually 2 of the same tool). I didnt' think fitting/wiring one was any more or less difficult than any other car.
