Hi,

I have a 2006 997 Carrera, today all of a sudden when I tried to start the car the battery just would not turn on the engine, the lights and all come on but seems the charge is just not enough for the battery to turn the engine.

I managed to jumpstart the car and no issues, my question is if I replace the battery what do I need to worry about?

I have a PCM 3.0 with Navi does it usually require a code after replacement??

I also have a battery maintenor, if that does not work can it be used to help replace battery so everything is not lost? what would be the steps?

any other concerns.

thanks.

Let check the battery charge, for good condition first, in a reputable shop to be sure. Power cable failures are not uncommon on 997, do a search for more information.

this it out of topic, but are you sure you have a PCM 3 and not a PCM 2? PCM 3 come with the 997-2 MY09 and later I thought...

If you have PCM 2, you will not need a code (my battery was weak when I purchased the car). I simply just took the old battery off, replaced with new one, bolted down and all was fine just had to re-set my clock and date.
