I went on a Rally with the local Porsche Club Saturday and on the way home I stopped and got gas, about 20 minutes later it started to rain so I pulled over to put up the top, as the top is going up the CEL came on. I put it on the Durametric and came up with the fault code P1126. I have a 2.5 '98 Boxster with Tip. Any suggestions where to start looking? Thanks in advance. Ed

Seems to be running lean and the computer is adjusting by going rich and at it's limit. Is this the only code. Possible causes

intake air leak, maf. Mybe be a litlle more difficult fix ; possible bad injector, fuel pressure low, or fuel pump going south. I used to get this one on hard acceleration when my pump was going out (it also whined too). hope this helps try seach too.

Maybe some better minds can chime and put you right on it hopefully, good luck

This fault has been covered here many many times... please do a search.

I tried to do a search and got 45 or so pages of things like convertable tops and becker rado problems along with radio code searches. I , personally, was not able to refine the search enough to get any usful info. Ed

Loren, Thank you very much for the search sites, I am in your debt. Is there someplace on the site which gives you information on refining your search? I would rather not infringe on your patient generosity more than I have to. Thanks again, Ed

If you use the Simple Search or the Advanced Search there is a link to a popup help - it is labeled "Advanced Usage Help".

The other important factor in searching is using the most unique keywords - in this case that was easy I just searched for "P1126".
