Wireless Backup Camera & Speakers

I have just purchased a Kenwood DNX9140 Nav/radio which I will be installing in an 04' 996 Targa with the upgraded Bose system. I'm intending to install it myself with the excellent articles on this site. To keep the install simple I want to use a wireless backup camera. However many installing dealers tell me it won't work as there will be interferance with the built in Parrot bluetooth. I need suggestions. Also How does one wire the speakers to change them from parallel 1 ohm to series with 4 ohms which seems to be required for the Alpine PBX5 amp. Lastly I will have the MOST amp & cdr 23 radio available for sale. Thanks

Heard the wireless ones suck. I have a wired one on my Toyota truck to Kenwood navi and it's one of the best mods I've done.

I've been an audi fitter for a few years, and to be honest, this is becoming one of the most labour intensive jobs ever!!

The subs will need to be done at the rear, because as far as I have been able to tell, there is only 1 wire going to the rear from the amp area, and yes, it is 1 ohm.

You will need to pumm out the sub enlosure.

The front dash, and front door speakers are 2ohms each, so also need to go in series.

Rear side speakers are 4ohms so easy peasy.

I'm basically gonna run the 4 speakers from the stereo internal amp, and then the subs on a little monoblock amp.

Thanks for the infor "thetino". Now, since I have the upgraded Bose system I believe the subs are in the doors. What I am wondering is exactly what one does to rewire the speakers from parallel to series. Would you be able to provide some guidence as to which wire goes where or if you simply jumper it in some way to change the resistence. Thanks much. Cris

I'm in the UK, in a coupe C4S, so yours maybe be different, but mine has subs on the rear shelf. I'm a bit confused as to why you would need a 5 channel amp if you don't have this?

Because I want to make the system easily reversible,(in the UK, buyers are very funny about mods, and Porsche wont warrant a car with nin standard equipment) I traced the amp wires to under the plastic panels in the boot bay.

I then set about identifying which wire was what, and measuring resistances before I found the very useful installation info on here.

The rears are straight forward, the fronts, I basically will get the 4 wires(2 for the door and 2 for the dash) and use a jumper wire between the sub-ve and dash speaker +ve, and then wire the stereo tothe remaining 2 wires(hope this makes sense). Then, if you need to reverse the system, just cut the jumper wires.

Hi Thetino -In my 04 Targa with the upgraded Bose/MOST system I believe the midrange/tweeters are L & R on the dash while the L & R rear speakers are on the panels above the wheel arch That takes care of four channels. The subs are connected together in the doors which is the fifth channel. Many of the posts on this site have used the Alpine PBX 5 (2-4 ohms) which is why I bought it but in general aftermarket amp's are not stable below 2 ohms from my research. Hence my need to understand how to change the resistance or impedance on these speakers. I need the the "Wiring for Dummies" manual so that I can make this work.

"Thetino" con't -Loren sent to me the M680 upgraded Bose wiring from the MOST amp to theBose speakers. My front's & rears are 2.1-2.4 ohms. The Alpine PDX 5 will handle this configuration so I only need to figure out the door speakers/subs which I think are also in the door. The sub as you have indicated are one ohm & there is only two wires from the AMP (Brown/white - & white +. I have not taken the door apart but am relying on some of the posts as to where the sub is located & yes the wiring diagram indicates that the sub for your car is in the rear. I did remove the rt front & rear speakers to check the impedeance & wiring colors at both the speaker & at the MOST amp which are the same. What I am thinking is to wire the door speakers & subs together to increase the resistance to about 3.4 ohms (2.4 for the doors & one +- for the sub) & use the 5th channel to power those. Altenatively I could connect the fronts on the right side with the door speakers which would give me 4 + ohms for each channel. I think that is what you are suggesting. Have I got it right?
