I have a 2000 996 C4 fitted with PCM1. Since the PCM1 is outdated now, difficult to use and new maps cost a fortune, has anyone actually removed their PCM1 system from the car and replaced it with anything else?

If you have, with what and how difficult is it to do?

What discs do you have?

Unfortunately I am away from my beloved car at the moment as I work overseas. But from what I can remember the only disc with the car is the PCM UK Map disc dated 2000 - probably the one that originally came with the car.

Try calling Gerard Mahoney or Gil Keane at Satnavshop in Birmingham: 0121 773 7000.

They have adapted Opel 2009 UK maps to run on PCM1 at a much lower cost than the latest PCM1 maps from Porsche.

Many thanks for that - Will try giving them a call when I get home but since that is not for another two weeks I will try e-mail first.

I will let everyone know how I get on.
