993 TSBs were prior to Porsche providing them as electronic data. So they are (for the most part) in paper form that would need to be scanned before they would be available for viewing.

Is there something in particular that you are looking for?

Loren,

Thanks for your prompt response. I am close to buying a 1996 993TT, 1 owner car that has been serviced by shops as well as the local dealer. I know there were some updates but I am looking to verify all updates from Porsche were done. Can a dealer pull this up by VIN on a 1996? If so, I assume the dealer would not be interested in sharing the info with me as I don't own the car. I also understand that Porsche will "always" do Porsche updates regardless of the age and current owner of the car? I am just trying to be an educated buyer and the car is 1500 miles away. Before I fly to view the car I would like to know as much up front as possible. I am trying to get a sense for any potential problem areas. The owner doesn't seem to be a good historian.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, any Porsche dealer should be able to bring up the service history - of all items done by a Porsche dealer. For privacy reasons they can not give you a copy but they should be able to "tell" you what was done.

The only updates they are "required" to do are recalls. Everything else is optional.

If you PM me the car's VIN I can get you a report of the factory options on the car.

There was one important recall on all 993s (including the Turbo) which was W301 - Engine Wiring Harness. It was a Workshop Campaign, and is carried out free of charge. There have been several cases of fires breaking out in the engine compartment caused bythe deterioration of the wiring insulation. I had it done to my old 993, as it had slipped through the cracks with previous owners. That's the only recall listed in POSES that I can see.

Check that the recall is stamped in the maintenance booklet.
