Hi All,

I have a slight creaking noise coming from the drivers widow seal when the window is wound all the way up, it seems to come from the seal rubber contact with the glass. Has anyone tried to remedy this?

Thanks

Try putting a small amount of Krytox grease in the seal (where the window comes in contact with it). Do a search here for "Convertible top squeaks and creaks". You will get a lot of information on how to remedy annoying noises

Thanks is Krytox better than a silicon or teflon based grease?

It seems to work better than anything else and doesn't degrade. I think that it is used a lot in marine applications. It's expensive but a small tube will last a long time. Shop it on the internet and try to find the best deal.

You can try the other lubricants you mentioned to see if they will work first

I had a lot of squeaks and creaks in my Cabrio and the Krytox got rid of 90% of the noises.

Good luck!

You can also try "Gummipfledge", which is usually carried by BMW dealers.

I believe that silicone and some other greases may not be ideal for rubber surfaces.

I have run across Krytox before. There seem to be different "types" GPL, CRJ, etc. Which one would you recommend? Does anyone have an outlet they care to recommend?
