Broken Gas Lock

The original owner of my used 2003 Porsche Boxster broke the little bar inside of the gas cap area that locks this area when the car is locked. Essentially, the gas area is free to be opened at any time. The dealer who sold the car to me mentioned that a lot of Porsche owners do this because they don't want the hassle of the locking gas area.

I really DO want it. Would this be something that's easy to fix? The locking mechanism itself is fine, it's the little metal bar that it catches on to that's been broken off.

Replacing the Gas/Fuel Door Actuator

Thanks for the assistance. I actually found the part I needed and it was a simple $2.00 piece called "Fuel Door Hinge Cap".
