While accellerating hard, my check engine light came on. The car showed no symptoms of anything at all, so I drove it for a while afterwards in town. When I got home, I disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes and hooked it back up. Reset the radio code and clock, and magic...no check engine light. I then drove for quite some time the following day, maybe 100 miles all in town over several hours and no check engine light.

Just for fun, any guesses on what it was? My initial thoughts are an O2 sensor going bad or some kind of misfire thing.

Thanks for the input.

Unless you read the fault code - it could be any one (or more) of few hundred faults.

Every time you disconnect the battery, the DME (and some other control boxes) carry out a reset. All fault codes and actual values are erased, it depends on time and order of importance of the issue, the CEL will come on again. Read and note the codes and actual values ALWAYS BEFORE you disconnect the battery, that is the most important.
