I recently purchased a 2008 Cayenne Turbo a month ago and the vehicle is in great shape. I was not able to ask the seller about two nickle sized black cases and red led lights attached to the side of front console area. They are attached to the inner section of both sides of the steering console and it seems that the black cords run behind the driver display screens. I am trying to contact the seller but he is out of the country on business. Has anybody done a similar mod to their vehicle I would like know everything about my new vehicle and just haven't figured out what they are for. I have an idea of possibly a modified radar detector or security system but the electronic key system and flip key is not 3rd party and has a Porsche logo. If anybody has any ideas I would love to hear them thanks...

Could they be a K40 radar detector? Do you have a picture?

It could be just about anything, really. If I read it correctly, you say there are two LEDs and no switches, so no chance of input. Since there's two of them I would assume there's a reason to have two outputs. Radar might be front/back, but if he spent enough money for a custom setup he better have gotten the good one which does sides too!

Are the lights always on? always off? do they ever change status? Are there any other custom wires visible anywhere under hood? (custom wires would be ANY wires visible).
