i posted this over on rennlist, but in case people don't go over there, i wanted to get other opinions

in the past couple weeks i have replaced the cv boots, rr lower control arm and rear tires. I also had an alignment and state inspection performed.

The alignment was off quite a bit in the rear and a little in the front.

I purchased bridgestone re960 pole postions a couple weeks ago.

The problem i am having is swaying. When i am driving on the highway at speed i need to keep a prettty steady grip on the wheel to prevent it.

I notice when i am going around corners that i need to slow down to go thru them. If i don't and go too fast through them, the trac control system kicks in. Now i can drive thru these same turns faster in my 141k 99 es300 with snow tires.

Can it really be the tires that are making it do this? It did not do it before and i am concerned.

The alignment was performed at an indie mechanic who specializes in these cars.

Please help

Can you post your alignment specs? Also, the tire sizes. Was the car ever wrecked?

i will post them this week when i can scan them. the car didn't do this before i replaced the cv boots and tires. the rear is 265/35-18 and the fronts prob are 265/40-18, but i'll have to check.

there was some damage from the po to the car. I beleive it was rear-ended with some damage in front and rear. i wasn't sure if i did something when i was under the car to make it this way or if the tread is the culprit.

I will sell the tires if need be and get summer tires and not all season ones. I don't drive in the rain or snow.

I would change the tyres (4) with approved brands and N-coded, fill up the gas tank till MAX. and do an alignment in a reputable shop.

I don't think it is the tires; I have two sets of them on other cars with no problems; tires handle well and are quiet. I'd look at the alignment (at a different shop) before I'd change the tires..............

Yea - I would wonder about alignment first too. Toe out in the rear would make the rear wander - toe out in the front would do the same, but to the front.
