Hello all,

I noticed today when I started my car (997 C2S 05) that air conditioning is making a ticking noise. the noise goes up and faster when I put down the temperature. I tried turning off the compressor to check if it was the cause but the noise is still there!!

when I put the fan down to the lowest (i.e. outside air only) I dont hear the noise!! it sounds like a paper stuck in the pipes.

any idea what that could be? I dont want to take it to the dealer if its a simple issue that can be dealt with easily!

Is air-conditioning covered in the pre-owned warranty?

Appreciate your help and advice

Thanks,

Hamad

I just checked the AC air filter in the front and it was very dusty and the noise was stronger there! you think this is the problem?

thanks,

Sounds like some insulating foam may have come loose and is hitting the fan.

If you have small hands you might be able to reach in from the filter side (filter removed and fan off) to see if you can remove it.

Thanks Loren!

I just checked and I couldnt remove the filter because I need the star screws. Given that its not serious, I guess I will live with the noise for the next couple of days and take the car to the dealer on Saturday.

Many thanks,

Hamad
