I'm having a clutch problem. I came to a stop and depressed the clutch. The clutch pedal however remained completed depressed and stays in that position. I can pull out the pedal out however I can not engage the transmission to put it back in gear. I do notice a clear liquid spilling out under the car probably next to the transmission. It appears to be more like water however it was to hot to tell if it was only water. I don't have any CEL lights on and everything appeared to be normal before this problem. Car ran great. Please point me in the right direction to find out what is wrong. Hopefully I'll be able to repair this on my own as the closest Porsche dealer or independant is 3 hours away. Thanks.

You have a bad clutch master or slave cylinder (possibly a broken fluid line). Anybody can repair/replace it for you. Shop around...say it's a VW & save a few.

The hydraulic hose connection has separated where it attaches to the main line from the master cylinder. Should I still be concerned with the master clutch cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder? With the connection blowing apart could it be a simple fatigue or break of the connection or could it be indicative of something else? Thanks.

I guess you have nailed the fault - what is the chance that the master and slave have failed just as the line ruptured.

In order to rupture it must have been under pressure - If either the master or slave cylinders were defunct then there would be no pressure to rupture the line

I don't have any knowledge on the hydraulic fittings. The current one just slides in and out and obviously does not hold. Do I need to replace the fittings or the entire assembly of hose and connector on the main line? Any help on part numbers? Thanks.

Thanks. It looks like I'll need #22 and #14. Presently the end connection from #14 won't connect into #22. How does the #22 connection come off the hydraulic line? Or am I looking at replacing the line also? Is there another way to fix the connection?

I was finally able to get the compression fitting off. It was very tight. Inside the fitting is a small clip that was broken. I've ordered the replacement circlip, part number 999.230.685.40. Hopefully next week I'll be able to get it all back together.

I just had my slave cylinder replaced and while at the shop having the mechanic trace an oil leak, the clutch was depressed and remained. He stated it was the master cylinder. Should the slave and master be replaced at the same time also? Thanks Bill

Well after two weeks and a replacement of the slave and Master cylinders I now need a clutch because I am told it is the pressure plate in the clutch which is causing the slave cylinder to blow seals......Is this true??....it is becoming a very expensive oil leak.....

Old topic, but I just had the same issue arise. I found a crack in, what I believe is the #9 line. It's blue and I'm wondering if there is any way to confirm that is the line that I need. There is a small crack right where the line clips to the underside of the car just behind the front left wheel. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
