Has any one of you added a mesh grill behind the front air vents? I have an 05 Boxster and install them. I've seen some pretty wicked 911's and Cayman's with DIY grills, and I'd like to do the same.

Is it possible to take out the plastic grill right now, without removing the bumper, to attach the mesh?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Mike.

Do a search here .. There are some great DIY's for grills. And yes you have to take off the bumper. You can search that as well. A good bumper removal thread is Loren's "installing a 3rd radiator" DIY.

Good luck..

ZUNSPORT do a chrome or black mesh grille in stainless steel that fits over the front plastic grilles. I made up my own grilles to sit behind the front intake slats from black aluminium mesh. These were fitted from the front of the car without the need to remove any trim or bumper covers. If you want to take out the from intake slats you need to remove the bumper cover.

There is a thread on the subject with pictures over on boxa.net
