I am gettting huge streams of grey smoke after high speed cornering through the hills. Smoke only comes out when I hit the accelerator. After 2-3 accelerations back on straight flatland smoke will not come back again until next time I go through the same corners.

Replaced the AOS, cleaned the throttle body, MAF, and Y tube 450 miles ago. No CEL, Autozone didn't pull any codes. No smoke otherwise. I smell burning oil each time after driving. I do have a very slow RMS leak.

Stock, 70K miles, all service up to date and never abused.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Thanks for quick reply. Good thought but no. I changed it last summer and this is a fairly recent event. There has not been a significant drop in oil level according to the dipstick either and it is currently on the low end of the mark.

BTW Mike, Thanks for your write up, it helped me a lot!

Hmm... Interesting thought. I did do it late night after putting the kids to bed so maybe I missed something. It seems tight but I'll have to lift it to check the mounting bolts.

Two of my hose clips broke when I was taking them off. One going to the TB and the one coming from the middle of the AOS to (I believe?) the engine block-it goes under the manifold and dissappears. That one I wrap-tied and is not leaking oil but perhaps air is getting in there?

For the 'Y Tube' I have a new one on order but the clamp was still mostly functional.

I also used a hose clamp for the bellows hose but will maybe put the original clamp back on.

Does this like a logical reason for the problem I am having?

Do you know where that middle hose ends up and how difficult it is to replace?
