I took the advice from the posts on the P1128 & P1130 codes and started searching fro an air / vacum leak I heard a swooshing noise but could not find the leak. Then I cleaned the MAF and put it back in, the idle oscillated after I re-installed it but it normalised after a while back to what it was before. I had new Mahle air & fuel filter installed so I ruled them out.

So I took it to my mech. & he cant find an air / vacum leak either. He hears the swooshing noise to but says some of that is normal. He said he would check the codes again and consult a fellow mechanic

Is it time to think again ?any advice on what to check for next?

TIA :notworthy:

Try the oil separator (breather tank). I'm having similar trouble, but also some missing (rough idle in addition to variable). Check for oil in your intake manifold just past the throttle body and/or at the breather tank vent line (just after the throttle body)
