i have MY99 C4 Cabriolet and i'm confusing now.

because my C4's height is really different.

Front is 672mm (26.46inches)

Rear is 663mm (26.10inches)

(measured through centerline of wheel to bottom of fender lip)

so i assume something changed by earlier owner.

according to pca.org article,

usa sport(M030) 675mm/675mm

row sport(M030) 663mm/662mm

i think that guy who owned this car before changed rear spring only...

front ground clearance looks higher than rear....

ok now, My car's VIN is WP0CA2993XS654657

i want to know what color code should be shown at spring surface, and what part numbers is correct for original parts?

(i have checked springs(front/rear) with small flash, it is not clean now but front show white(up) pink/red(down), and

rear show white(up) brown/can't see(down).

if something wrong and changed, i want to recover it.

help me please!!!

thanks

Mick

================================================

Your car came from the factory with a USA M032 (standard) suspension.

That means the front spring should be color coded: brown/blue

and the rear springs should be: brown/white

Loren

================================================

so i have more question, should i change front spring only or rear only?

and if i change front or rear spring, then must change shock also? ahh one more, swaybar also?

plz help me!!!!

thanks

Mick

ps: and my front spring has some numbers --> 996 407 (logo) 7302 <-- what is this meaning???

Problem is if you look on your car and the spring colors are wrong - then you have no idea what is on the car.

You might need springs, shocks, and swaybars.

So, you need to decide whether you want he standard suspension (M032) or the sport suspension (M030).

Then do you want the US version or the RoW (Rest of the World) version. RoW version will be somewhat lower.

i have double checked my rear 996 bumpstops, color & size seems like a sport one. (measured height was 663mm = sport's height)

so i want to change only front spring & shock & swaybar,

do i need anyother parts except (spring, shock&swaybar) for front ?

What are the color codes on the rear springs?

If it is brown/white then that is a standard US rear suspension.

Remember - you want your suspension components to be matched (tuned).

my rear spring has brown/red(seems red but, not exact because it is dirty, anyway it is not white).

and more funny thing is front spring has pink/red but front shock has brown color...

so i'm confusing...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

rrrrrrrr

if i change front suspension(spring, shock, swaybar) can i expect to 10mm lower than now???

many thank you sir!!

Then all the springs are likely wrong.

As I said before if you intend to (potentially) re-use any parts (shocks, swaybars, etc.) you will need to get the part number off each item and compare them to the suspension option that you want.

Porsche and Carnewal.com both sell some suspension packages that include everything.

yes sir! i understand. but unfortunately some suspension parts in my car, can't read part number at all. no marking or erased.

(only i can read front shock's part number...****.)

so yes i decided to install euro version lowering kit.

thank you very much sir, i'm only 44yo..hehe and i'm riding 911 only for 3years.

you are giving great help to me! thanks again!

ps: i'll check carnewal.com also.
