Anyone go besides me to Fontana this weekend? Got to drive the new Boxster and Cayman with PDK with an instructor. Really fun. Made me realize I don't know how to drive fast at all. lol! :clapping:

There were some great vendors and beautiful P cars. A very good time. Even my wife thought it was cool. :jump:

I did the Hollywood Park event last Tuesday and it was a total blast! Very well run, and like you said, it's clear I can't drive my car fast anywhere near it's potential. The laps with the Porsche instructors driving us around in the new cars was very instructional. Two very big problems with the event: 1. I really want to do the Porsche Driving Experience now (costs $), and 2. I really would love to have a new Boxster (direct injection, IMS-less engine) (costs lots of $)! The PDK transmission is impressive and vastly superior to the tip, but I'm not sure I would give up a manual transmission for the PDK - somehow it takes away some of the sports car feel. Or maybe I'm showing my age with that comment, since video games don't have clutches either

We had 2 LA Clippers cheerleaders at our driving event. Did they bring out any notable talent for yours?

No noteables. Just a bunch of guys in their 40's and 50's (like me) with little blue tickets in their hands waiting their turn for the fun ride! Reminded me that things do not really change no matter how old you are.. :D

I agree the PDK is awesome but I like the manual too!

I have a 996 and it was my first time in a mid engine Porsche. They are awesome cars. Much more forgiving that the 911. I have a client who has been to Porsche "Driving Experience" 20+ times lol!

Another option would be to go to any race driving school and learn the basics. I'm sure it would make you and I a better driver.
