Electrical problem

2001 Porsche 911 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 29000 miles

I push the clutch in, i hear the click of the safety switch, i can hear the solinoid click on when i turn the key and power up the porsche, all the display lights come on, but the engine doesn't crank, nothing happens. i repeatedly pump the clutch all the way the the floor and eventually i hear the click of the safety switch transfer to the rear of the car and the engine starts. i've had the ignition control and solinoid replaced. it's really embarassing when i'm sitting there for 2 minutes trying to start my car! help!

Pull of the switch wiring an make a bridge, if the starter motor will run, it's apparently a faulty switch.

I had a similar problem, replaced the clutch safety switch and so far no more problems, you can either replace the switch or do as RFM says.
