I just offically joined this board, made a contribution and it already saved me about $300! :clapping:

I replaced the failing oil filler tube in my 97 Boxster last night. Part was $35 and it only took me about 2 plus hours and it was my first time. The dealer said 3 hrs. The only real difficult part was pulling the tube fill connection (which also holds the coolent res) out far enough to remove the spring clamp. It is a very tight space to work in, inside the engine bay. The new part which is an upgrade fit well. Hope this does the trick. Thanks again Renntech! :D

Guess the instructions in the bulletin helped. The official time is about 80 minutes not 3 hours. Next time you will do it in an hour.

Since I have a 1997 I'll give you a call when it my time. Jeff

Make a contribution and you'll have access. It's prretty tricky and verry tight arround the tube. Let me know and I can walk you through it.

Good luck!
