Should I disconnect battery?

Hello all,

Need some suggestions/help here...

I have a 2005 Cayenne S, and will not drive it for more two months. Should I disconnect the battery? If so, should it be the driver seat battery, or the trunk battery? Or both??

Would it not be better to use a battery maintainer, no problems, no work, no waste of time. Just an idea, if not, disconnect both battery's ( if the car got 2 battery's) Disconnect the ground lead in front, right of the drivers seat for battery 1 and the ground battery cable in the spare wheel room for battery 2.

My experience with Cayennes is that disconnecting the battery is bad. I'd keep it on a charger/maintainer, or just leave it. It should be OK for 2 months.

A battery maintainer works well, don't know about a car with 2 batteries, I use mine on a 996. Info about them here:

I've been using this unit for my BMW w/o problems, was wondering if I could use it for my Cayenne S Titanium Edition or not.

I use the Porsche battery maintainer all the time. During winter storage and in between weekend drives.

I would not want the battery disconnected, because this would also disable the alarm. Not a huge concern, but a dis-service and irresponsible, IMHO.
