I am finally getting around to replacing my shift cable. Everything is disassembled except the connections on the transmission. Do these connections simply "pop" on/off? What is the best method for disconnecting them?

Thanks.

Jeff

They "pop" off, you can use two flat screwdrivers, a door trim clip disposer fork, or similar tool.

As far as these just popping off, mine did while I was driving today and I was left stranded until a friend came doen with a floor jack and some zip ties. I was reading on this thread: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...;hl=shift+cable

that there is a spring clip that sounds like it can be replaced or adjusted. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to adjust it? Or at least what it looks like? I saw some silver 'arms' that wrap around the connectors, should i just bend them in to make them tighter? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

How did you tighten them? Bending or do they spin to tighten down? Im going to be taking the car on a trip down the east coast and would hate for it to pop off as im driving through the night!!
