Does anyone have an opinion on the Uro brand water pump retailing on http://www.fcpgroton.com ($110)

Suncoast (http://www.suncoastparts.com/) is selling porsche part for $199 and my local dealer for $316

Why would suncoast sell the porsche part cheaper than my local dealer? It doesnt say rebuilt either. Also should i really care to get a porsche part or URO brand is good enough?

Porsche sells off overstock. They sell it to the highest bidder. Guess who the highest bidder is? Typically: SunCoast.

I just had lengthy conversations with a dealership owner about how SunCoast can undercut everyone and how a lot of dealers handle their pricing. It was an extremely interesting conversation. It changed where I buy from :)

Dealers/OPCs get discounts from Porsche based on the volume of business they do (number of parts they buy).

That is why dealers like Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) and Suncoast can sell for less.

$110 is D_A_M_N good!.. I followed the link. I'm calling a friend of mine in that area to get the skinny on that business. They are listing it for $104 right now.

They list the pump fits a CGT.. UM NO!!

After speaking with Terry Wells (before he retired from running the west coast Porsche distribution warehouse) they all *supposedly* get the same price but are not regulated to how much of a markup they are allowed.

I have called around to multiple dealers on the same day and received pricing all over the map. There appeared to be NO rhyme or reason!!

I'll tell you this: SunCoast/Sunset is not making any friends out there when it comes to other dealers, in fact they are pissing off some of the members who sit on the allocation committee (the group who decides how many cars each dealer gets)

We will see how much longer it continues.

My concern is: the wholesalers are now starting to send out "aftermarket" parts for the Porsche's that are cheaply made and fail sooner :(
